Where did the FJ55 get it's nickname the 'Iron Pig'?

The FJ55, referred to as the Iron Pig by many Land Cruiser enthusiasts, was built from 1967 - 1980. This Land Cruiser was developed to be a family-friendly off-road vehicle with seating up to seven. Because the FJ55 was reliable and family friendly, the Iron Pig was the perfect vehicle for a family overland adventure! 

The Iron Pig was powered by a 3.9 and 4.2 liter inline-six engine with a three and four-speed manual transmission. 

So where did the FJ55 get it's nickname the Iron Pig?

One of the main reasons the FJ55 was coined the 'Iron Pig' was the 'face' of the vehicle. The front of the FJ55 has a pig-eyed look to the circular headlights and the compact grill resembles a pig muzzle and snout to some.
